What can be appealed

The Housing Appeals Committee (HAC) can deal with appeals on many decisions about services provided by DCJ Housing and Community Housing Providers. If a person is unhappy with a decision of the housing provider they can appeal that decision to the HAC.

Because different social housing providers make decisions about different social housing products and services, providers may have different internal policies affecting appeal decisions.

Decisions and the timeframe for lodgement of appeals will be outlined in housing provider internal appeal policies - within the framework of relevant government policies such as Housing Pathways.
