What can be appealed
The Housing Appeals Committee (HAC) can deal with appeals on many decisions about services provided by FACS Housing Services and community housing providers. If a person is unhappy with a decision of the housing provider they can appeal that decision to the HAC.
Because different social housing providers make decisions about different social housing products and services, providers may have different internal policies affecting appeal decisions.
Decisions and the timeframe for lodgement of appeals will be outlined in housing provider internal appeal policies - within the framework of relevant government policies such as Housing Pathways.
The following information is provided as a guide to the scope of the HAC appealable decisions. For further information please refer to the Scope of Appealable Decisions document. This document sets out appealable decisions by housing provider type.
